Naturally Occurring Toxic Substances (NOTS) Analysis


Certain food types contain possibly harmful toxins that occur naturally. These are known as Naturally Occurring Toxic Substances (NOTS). These toxic substances may be of fungal or plant origin, or they might originate from marine animals. FSSAI has set up a safe upper limit of NOTS as per FSSR, 2011.

The food testing laboratory of CEGTH is accredited by NABL and approved by FSSAI to carry out testing of NOTS in various food samples. We are equipped with a state-of-the-art instrumentation division to determine NOTS contamination in different food products and matrices. The four types of NOTS that we test are:
